In a time of dissension, opposition, and divide it is especially important that we as mental health professionals are mindful of how we intervene when working with clients who have differing or are struggling to engage with people of differing value systems and beliefs. Using Kingian Nonviolence as a case study, this course encourages participants to engage in critical self-reflection by exploring various nuances and influences on their own values, ethics, and morals and how these beliefs impact their interactions with others. All learning materials will be connected to the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) Code of Ethics.
